Update: Ministry agrees to fund Dorset nurse’s station for three year pilot

The Ministry of Health and Long-term Care has announced they are funding a three year pilot project for the Dorset Community Health Care Hub (Nurse Practitioner Station). The funds will cover operating costs and one time startup costs. The plan was put forward by the District of Muskoka which includes another facility in Port Carling, a mobile unit and the re-instatement of funding for the Wahta Mohawk facility.

Local MPP Laurie Scott says this station will help address challenges faced by seniors and low income families in our area.

Details and conditions of the agreement like timing and flow of funding will be decided as the plan is developed.
