BREAKING: Soldier shot at War Memorial in Ottawa; shots fired in Parliament Hill

A Canadian soldier has been shot in the chest at the National War Memorial in Ottawa. The injured solider has been taken out into an ambulance.

There are also reports of gunfire at Parliament Hill.

According to CBC, there are unconfirmed reports of another person hurt outside the Library of Parliament.

The Prime Minister is safe and the MPs have been evacuated. The Centre and East Blocks of the Hill are on lockdown. Police say the suspect is still on the loose.

Parry Sound Muskoka MP is tweeting about the shootings at Parliament Hill in Ottawa. In his most recent tweets Clement says he’s with his colleagues Mark Strahl and Kyle Seeback. The Prime Minister was in Caucus, but is now secure. Assuming it’s not safe to venture out yet. Earlier Clement tweeted “shots fired during caucus meeting. At least 30 shots. MPs piled out. I’m safe with 2 colleagues, but we’re still at risk.”
