From chilly to icy, Mother Nature is continuing to hammer Haliburton this winter

After getting hammered with snow and Arctic temperatures, Haliburton is likely in for a new kind of extreme winter storm.

Environment Canada is warning we could see a significant freezing rainfall event soon, with a storm being sent our way from the prairies. The storm will likely start with snowfall on Wednesday afternoon, but switch to ice pellets and then freezing rain overnight before moving on Thursday morning.

There is currently no estimate on how much freezing rain could fall, but early forecasts suggest the storm will start around 7:00pm on Wednesday before clearing up after 6:00am on Thursday.

This comes on the heels of another Arctic freeze currently hitting the county today.

The MyHaliburtonNow.com Newsroom is tracking this new storm and will keep you updated on the details as more information becomes available. You can always stay updated on road and weather conditions by tuning into Moose FM.
