You’re invited to pull up a sleeping bag and help make sure no one goes homeless in Haliburton.
This Friday, Places for People will run Sleeping In Cars, a fundraising event to raise both awareness and funds for the homelessness issue plaguing the county. The event will run at the Chamber parking lot in Minden, the Library parking lot in Dysart and at the Lloyd Watson parking lot in Wilberforce. Places for People is a non-profit organization, which works to secure properties that can be offered as affordable rentals for residents at risk of being put out on the cold.
