County hosting meeting for a proposed subdivision

Haliburton County is giving taxpayers the chance to speak their minds about plans for a subdivision in Algonquin Highlands.

The county councillors will be going over plans for a subdivision to be built on Kawagama Lake. As part of the planning process members of the public can come to the meeting as share their support or reservations about the idea.

The meeting is March 27th at 9:00am in the county council chambers at 7 Milne Street in Minden Hills.

According to Charlsey White, the county’s director of planning, the subdivision would be built off of Maple Ridge Road. If built, the four lots would be used for “resource-based recreational use”.

The lots are waterfront access only, which means that getting to the lots is only possible from Kawagama Lake

If anyone is looking for more information they can go look at the application at the county offices Monday to Friday.
