Highlands East man facing impaired driving charge

A person from Highlands East is in hot water after a series of arrests in Peterborough County.

The O.P.P. is reporting that a 34-year-old from the municipality is one of three people to be charged for alcohol-related offences over the weekend.

According to the police on Saturday officers were conducting a RIDE program around 1:15am on Chemong Road in Peterborough.

The man was charged with operating a car while impaired and having a blood alcohol concentration of more than 80 mgs. As well he was charged with driving with an open liquor container and failing to surrender his driver’s licence.

The other people charged by Peterborough O.P.P. were a 54-year-old from Bancroft and a 57-year-old from Emily Township.

All three are due in court in Peterborough April 11th.
