Work on Eagle Lake Bridge takes another step

Repairs to a county bridge are getting closer to being done.

Craig Douglas, the Director of Public Works for Haliburton County, got the okay to award the engineering services to Keystone Bridge Management Corp for the Eagle Lake Bridge.

The work to be done on the bridge is no need for concern said Douglas, in a previous interview with MyHaliburtonNow.com. Right now, Douglas is looking at getting the bridge inspected.

After the inspection, which Douglas was given $80,000 for, he said that he’ll tender out the construction work.

Douglas explained that on parts of the bridge, the concrete is being eaten away, so the scope of the work would be to replace the concrete and waterproof it to prevent these concerns coming up again.

No word on when the inspection will actually start.
