Highway 35 to get funding from Ontario

It looks as though Highway 35 is getting a helping hand from the province.

Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock MPP Laurie Scott announced today the highway, which runs the entire length of her riding, is going to get funds from the recently announced $1.3 billion investment in “transportation projects”.

Scott says the funding is being used for the section of highway in northern Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton.

According to the Minister of Labour, the money is going to be used to upgrade culverts and the rehabilitation of the bridge over the gull river in Moore’s Falls.

There is no definitive price tag attached to the local work but it is one of 155 projects across the province being funded by the Ministry of Transportation.

“This transportation infrastructure investment will improve road safety while creating good construction jobs in our riding and across the province,” said MPP Scott.
