Haliburton and area will be seeing a mix of freezing rain and snow today.

Between five and 10 centimetres is expected today and tonight. Higher amounts could fall in northern areas including Barry’s Bay and along Highway 60 where a snowfall warning is in effect.

Snowfall amounts for Oxtongue Lake, Fort Irwin and Northern Haliburton County towards Algonquin Park are expected to be in the 15 to 20 centimetre range.

The freezing rain will make road surfaces dangerous. It is expected to stop this evening, with snowfall continuing through early tomorrow morning.
