Chamber of Commerce names award winners

A number of different businesses and people are celebrating their winning ways.

Saturday marked the 13th Annual Haliburton Highlands Chamber of Commerce Business and Community Achievement Awards Gala.

The night featured the presentation of 12 awards in a number of categories, including Customer First Business Award, Highlander of the year, and the Innovation and Creativity Award.

After all, was said and done, Haliburton Solar and Wind was the big winner of the night, the business took home four of the awards. They won the Innovation and Creativity Award, Customer First Business Award, the Business Achievement Award, and the Skilled Trade and Industry Award.

The Rotary Club of Haliburton, who just celebrated their 75th anniversary, took home the Not-for-Profit of the Year Award. The Customer First Employee Award went to Shontel Neville of Heat-Line Freeze Protection Systems.

Haliburton County Chiropractic and Rehabilitation took home the New Business of the Year Award. Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve won the Tourism and Hospitality Award.

Dr. Kassie Wright from the aforementioned Haliburton County Chiropractic and Rehabilitation was the winner of the Young Professional of the Year.

The Entrepreneur of the Year went to Brandi Hewson of WAI Products Ltd.

Highlands East Mayor Dave Burton presented Harvest Haliburton with the County Warden’s award.

The final award of the night was given to Steve Todd, the owner-operator of Todd’s Independent in Haliburton VIllage. He won the Highlander of the Year.
