Minden Hills enforcing “fire season” regulations

With spring already sprung the fire department is enforcing burning rules.

As of Monday, the firefighters of Minden Hills is officially into what the fire department calls “Fire Season”.

That means that in Minden Hills, you can’t do any daytime burning without a permit.

If anyone in the township is caught burning without a permit they can be fined and face other fees. As well, the person burning can be liable for all costs occurred by the Fire Department.

A daytime burning permit can be bought at the township office, or online by clicking here. The Fire Department notes that the burn permit costs a minimum $50 and will take two business days to process.

According to the Minden Hills Fire Department, a complete fire ban can be instituted by the county fire chiefs at any time. Chief Mike Bekking says “it is YOUR responsibility to be aware of fire bans.”
