It seems that the high wind speed is causing more than power outages.
Dysart et al has an unexpected expense coming up after the high wind speeds pulled some of the roofing of the AJ LaRue Arena in Haliburton.
Throughout the day the wind has been wreaking havoc on the power and internet lines around Haliburton County. Power was knocked out to over 600 people in Carnarvon earlier today.
No word on the extent of the damage at the arena, but it appears that only a section of the roofing was pulled off above the arena portion of the building. A MyHaliburtonNow.com listener confirmed that the municipality has been made aware.
