Recap of leader’s speeches in House of Commons

Prime Minister Stephen Harper spoke in the House of Commons as MPs came back to work despite yesterday’s shooting. Harper talked about the dangers servicemen and women take on to protect the citizens of Canada.

Twenty-four-year-old Corporal Nathan Cirillo was shot and killed at the National War Memorial yesterday. Cirillo leaves behind a son. Harper also says Canadians will not be intimidated.  He says we will be vigilant, but we will not run scared.

Meantime, Opposition Leader Tom Mulcair, Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau and Green Party Leader Elizabeth May also addressed the House.  They echo that all Canadians are thinking of and praying for the family and friends of fallen Canadian soldier Corporal Nathan Cirillo.  Sergeant of Arms Kevin Vickers is being celebrated as a national hero.
