Wilberforce information centre hiring summer student

Students are being sought out for a job in Wilberforce.

Highlands East announced it is hiring a student to work at the Wilberforce Information Centre from May 18th to September 2nd.

According to the municipality, the job is 36 hours a week and pays minimum wage, which is $14 an hour. Generally speaking, the municipality says the days the successful applicant are working will vary, and might even include weekends.

Anyone that applies needs to be “very familiar with the Municipality of Highlands East (including local businesses and points of interest), possess excellent interpersonal, communication and social skills. Excellent customer service skills, ability to problem solve and attention to detail is a must. You must be knowledgeable or willing to learn about geocaching, mineral collection, trails, and special events in the Municipality.”

On top of that, the applicant needs to have a valid G2 and access to a reliable vehicle. They would also need computer skills, professional telephone skills and the ability to work by themselves or with others.

Some of the jobs of the student hire include answering the inquiries of visitors in person online or over the phone, stocking brochures and racks, updating events, mailing out packages, photocopying, database work, light garbage clean up, and other duties as required.
