Health Unit reminds women to get breast screenings

“Be keen to screen” is the message the health unit is sending out to women across Haliburton County. They’re encouraging women to get screened for breast cancer. Elsie Azevedo Perry, a Registered Dietitian with the health unit says breast cancer affects one in nine women, meaning it’s important to get screened. The Ontario Breast Screening Program is free to average-risk women aged 50 and older who can book an appointment without a referral. For more information, go to HKPR.on.ca.
