Highland Yard Charity Run returning with some changes

MINDEN HILLS, ON- The annual fundraising run is coming back in August with a few changes.

Every year Places for People hosts a run to raise funds for its efforts to house those in need around the county. This year is no different, but the run will look a bit different according to Jack Russell and John Rogers.

The two men from Places for People were in the Minden Council chambers to give an update on not just the changes to this year’s run but also the money raised last year. The 2018 run raised $20,000 for the charitable organization.

For the 2019 run, the duo says the runner categories have expanded to include people aged 0-9 and another category of runners aged 70 and older.

Generally speaking, the registration costs are the same this year, with the exception of the 2K individual and group fee. Now that costs $20 for the individual and $30 for the group.
The other change to this year’s run is a partnership with the Boshkung Social who will be providing a free beer or non-alcoholic drink to everyone with a bib.

The 2019 Highland Yard run is happening August 4th.
