A pair of Haliburton events getting provincial grant money

TORONTO, ON- Two local events are coming back with some extra funds from the province.

The Ministry of Tourism revealed the list of successful applicants to the Celebrate Ontario 2019 Grant program.

On that list was the 2019 edition of Hike Haliburton, which gets planned by Haliburton County and facilitated by the local organization Yours Outdoors.

Hike Haliburton is going to get $8,062.

Another event getting funding from this year’s grant is the Haliburton Craft Brewers Fest which is organized by the Haliburton Lions Club,

The Brewers Fest is getting $4,850.

The province was taking applications for tourism focused events that were already experiencing some success but extra funding would help the marketing and overall impact of the event as a whole.

Amanda VirtanenHaliburton County Director of Tourism told county council before applying that she was going to apply for $10,000.
