Household Hazardous Waste Days are back in Dysart

DYSART ET AL, ON- residents and cottagers are being encouraged to gather their hazardous waste.

The Municipality announced today three dates for the annual Household Hazardous Waste Days.

The goal of the day is for taxpayers to get the chance to dispose of hazardous waste that has collected over the year. Once it is collected it can be taken to one of the landfills.

Day one of the collection day is July 13th at the Haliburton landfill from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Collection day two is from 9:00 am to noon at the Harcourt landfill on August 17th.

The final collection day is September 21st from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the West Guilford site.

According to the information provided by the municipality, the landfills will take both latex and oil paints, finishing products like varnish and glue, motor oil, automotive and household batteries, propane tanks and cylinders.

Also accepted on during the waste days are cleaners, aerosol cans, solvents, pesticides, herbicides, and pool and photography chemicals.

Not accepted are any industrial waste, needles, PCBs which are used in the manufacture of plastics, and the landfill will not take radioactive or pathological materials.
