OPP Auxiliary officers give local homes and businesses ways they can reduce their chances of break-ins through the SafeGuard Ontario program. OPP is promoting the program as part of crime prevention week. It provides property security reviews that assess buildings for locks on windows and doors and exterior lighting. The community based program trains the auxiliary officers in Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design to bring the service to home and small business owners.
