All public beaches cleared for swimming, says the health unit

HALIBURTON, ON – Go ahead and swim says the health unit heading into the long weekend.

The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit yesterday evening that all of the public beaches in Haliburton County are safe for swimming.

HKPR started their weekly water tests this week, and all 18 beaches did not show any signs of higher than acceptable bacteria levels.

Health unit staff test the waters for E. Coli which can increase the risk of throat, nose, eye and ear infection as well as stomach cramps and diarrhea.

Each week MyHaliburtonNow.com will update any beach closures.
