Five arrested during the execution of drug warrants in Bancroft

BANCROFT, ON – Five people, including a minor are facing charges after police acted on warrants.

Bancroft O.P.P. says that on June 20th around 2:25 am, members of the Community Street Crime Unit assisted with officers of the Bancroft Detachment, OPP Emergency Response Team, Tactics Response Unit and OPP Canine Unit attended two locations and executed drug warrants on Woodview Lane.

According to the police, during the warrants, officers found stolen items, drug paraphernalia, Morphine, cocaine, cannabis products, heroin, and Canadian currency.

As a result of the investigation, 23-year-old Gordy Armstrong from Faraday Township, and 38-year-old Julia Hunt of Bancroft were both charged with possession with intent to traffick heroin, cocaine and opioids. One count for each drug.

They were also charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000.

A 15-year-old was charged with possession with intent to traffick, possession of stolen property and failing to comply with a sentence.

29-year-old Ashley Shaw of Bancroft was charged with possession of opioids, and failing to comply with recognizance.

Jody DeJong was charged with possession with intent to traffick.

All five are scheduled to appear in court in Belleville on June 21st.
