Eagle Lake Beach declared not safe for swimming

DYSART ET AL, ON – One of Dysart’s beaches have come back unsafe for swimming.

According to the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit, Eagle Lake has been declared posted.

The health unit says the water sample taken at Eagle Lake came back with high levels of bacteria.

With the beach now declared posted, there are signs put up at the beach itself. As well the notice is on the HKPR website.

Health unit staff say that the high bacteria levels in the water can cause skin irritation, and if ingested can cause stomach issues as well.

All of the other water tests in at the time of writing have been declared safe for swimming.

Sand Point or Indian Point, Kashawigamog Lake, and Pine Lake Beach had yet to have the results shared.
