News Cause of Wednesday’s plane crash determined, names released SHARE ON: Smith Autumn, contributor, Friday, Nov. 14th, 2014 The names of the two men who died in Wednesday’s plane crash have been released. The pilot was 25 year old Logesh Lakshmikanthan and the passenger was 31 year old Ravindran Arulanandar, both from North York. According to Sergeant Kristine Rae, the autopsy showed both men died from injuries they sustained from the crash. She also released that the investigation revealed the crash happened because the plane ran out of fuel. The pilot was in contact with air traffic control on Tuesday night when he declared an airborne emergency and they lost communication before he could land safely. The wreckage was found early Wednesday morning in Algonquin Park just south of Whitney.
