MINDEN HILLS, ON- A man has passed away after capsizing in a kayak today.
According to a news release from the Haliburton Highlands OPP, emergency services were called to the Three Brothers Falls in Minden Hills around 1:50 p.m. today for reports of a drowning.
An eight-year-old girl and a 40-year-old man had been kayaking in the area when they capsized. The girl made it to shore safely, while the man failed to surface.
The 40-year-old from Waterford was pulled from the water by emergency personnel and pronounced dead.
Neither the man or the girl were wearing life jackets at the time of the incident.
