New event in Minden raises money for community programs

The Cultural Centre is adding an event to the Festival of Trees for the first time this year. The event is called Glitter and will be a cocktail party complete with a bar, auction, raffles, and so much more. Laurie Carmount is the Gallery Curator and she says all the proceeds are going back into the community.

Glitter is happening on Saturday night from 6 pm until midnight at the Cultural Centre. Carmount talks about what is involved:

People will get a chance to take part in the Festival of Trees during the event as well. Carmount says it’s an important event because it allows them to offer better programs to the community. She explains what kinds of things the money will go toward:

Carmount says tickets are almost sold out, so they’re encouraging people to buy them in advance. You can call 705-286-3763 to buy them or stop by the Cultural Centre located on Bobcaygeon Road in Minden.
