News Loan and grant applications open for low-income home improvements SHARE ON: Smith Autumn, contributor, Tuesday, Nov. 18th, 2014 Applications are open for the Kawartha-Haliburton Renovates program. It’s a program that helps low-income homeowners who need repairs, energy efficient upgrades, or accessibility modifications. You could get up to ten thousand dollars in a forgivable loan, or a grant for up to five thousand. Funding for the program is limited, so people who are eligible to apply will be considered based on priority. You must own your own home, have a gross household income at or below $72,000 and the market value of your home must be at or below $269,925. More information about applying and the form to fill out can be found on the City of Kawartha Lakes website by clicking here. The deadline to submit your application is December first.
