Witnesses sought for Haliburton assault

HALIBURTON VILLAGE, ON – The OPPĀ  in Haliburton is seeking witnesses after a man reported being assaulted early this morning.

It was just after 2:00am when officers from the Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the OPP were called to assist paramedics with a male who had been assaulted.

Police went to the hospital and interviewed the 24-year-old man who gave them details of what happened. The exact circumstances of the assault remain unclear at this time.

He was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released. No further details were provided in terms of where the assault might have happened, other than Haliburton Village.

Police are asking for potential witnesses to the assault to call them at the Detachment at 705-286-1431, the Provincial Communication Centre at 888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers Officers 800-222-8477.
