HALIBURTON, ON – A donation by a service club to Haliburton Highlands Secondary School could help literacy rates in the area.

The Rotary Club of Haliburton donated $4000 yesterday to the school to assist with improving literacy rates of all students.

The money will be used towards online resources, training and classroom materials that will assist students to better read, view, write, design, speak and listen.

A portion of the donation was courtesy of the Rotary Foundation’s dollar matching grant.

September is Basic Education and Literacy month.
