News Police warn of driveways paved with bad intentions SHARE ON: Rick Lowes, staff Thursday, Sep. 19th, 2019 Not all paving contractors are created equal. Police warn of an uptick in shady driveway jobs. (South Simcoe Police Service photo) ORILLIA, ON – The OPP are reminding people that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. The warning comes after Police received complaints about door-to-door salespeople offering discounts on paving using re-purposed asphalt. They claim the contractors gave only their first names, had no company logos on their vehicles and did a poor job after being paid. Police advise residents not to assume someone with a business card is part of a legitimate company and to be cautious of anyone wishing to only deal in cash.
