A recent survey by the Real Estate Council of Ontario has revealed that a surprising number of homeowners don’t know the facts when it comes to buying or selling a home. Marj Parish is a local real estate agent and she explains what she’s found.

While the survey covered all of Ontario, Parish says buying in Haliburton County is different because of things like wells and septic systems. She says this could become a problem if buyers aren’t going to the right mortgage specialist.

Because of things like this in our area, Parish explains how important it is to go through a local real estate agent when you’re thinking of buying or selling.

The survey found that a lot of people felt there was confusion around their contract, but Parish says there should never be confusions when you’re signing a contract. She says the right agent will sit down and go through everything to make sure you understand.
