A lack of communication resulted in a mis-understanding in regards to the solicitation of donations from the Haliburton Legion Branch 129. Rosemary Blight from the Legion issued a statement this morning apologizing for the mix up.
Blight says the Legion is in fact partners with Community Safety who for the past four years have assisted with the production of a Drug Safety/Awareness book that is distributed to Grade 7&8 students.
In past years donations were collected by the Legion Executive personally however this year the company in Winnipeg producing this book will be doing the actual soliciting for funds from local business’. The Legion regrets any misinformation or miscommunication that may have arisen.
