A 29-year veteran of the O.P.P. will appear in Bancroft in January, on a charge of sexual assault. The 50-year-old has been suspended from duty with pay, in accordance with the Police Services Act of Ontario. An investigation into the allegations was launched on Monday, and then yesterday police charged the officer with sexual assault.
According to Sgt. Kristine Rae, the name of the accused, along with what detachment they were stationed at is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
