To pump or not to pump. That was the question asked when Dysart’s Environment and Climate Change committee held their February meeting.
As part of the municipality’s Septic ReInspection Program, it was noted that problems would not have been missed without a pump out. After 793 inspections so far, Chief Building Official Karl Korpela feels there is no justification for a full septic pump out at every property.
The majority of council agreed.
New parameters will be set to decide when a pump out is required.
