The Ontario Government wants us to know they are taking action to protect people and communities from the effects of flooding.
John Yakabuski, Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry says their strategy is designed to increase public awareness and help to be better prepared for flooding events.
Minister Yakabuski was joined by local MPP Laurie Scott in Minden Monday, to outline the five priority areas as part of Ontario’s Flooding Strategy.
The priorities include; Understanding Flood Risk, Strengthening Governance, Enhancing Flood Preparedness, Enhancing Response and Recovery, and Investing in Flood Risk Reduction.
MPP Scott says they will continue to speak with Ontarians and will keep learning more as the strategy is implemented.
