Pigeon poop’s a problem in downtown Minden.
A concerned citizen and business owner wrote to Minden council worried about the number of pigeons on the roof of the Grill on the Gull building.
Stan Russell has been teaching music in Minden since 2003 and now teaches in a studio in the building. Mr. Russell wrote that he had been sharing the space with an acupuncturist who had to move out because of an allergy to the droppings. He says he needs help with the toxic layers on the sidewalk in front of his studio that are being brought in on people’s shoes.
Mayor Brent Devolin suggested that someone was feeding the pigeons, or there was a food source somewhere.
Minden Hills councillors agreed public education was in order, and whoever is feeding the pigeons should “cease and desist”.
