The County of Haliburton has declared a state of emergency, effective immediately.
The county is making this declaration as “a proactive step for potential access to resources from other levels of government as this situation evolves”. County Warden Liz Danielson says this will ensure “better preparedness for our community overall”.
Essential services including paramedic services and road operations will continue to operate.
The county’s administration office is closed for public entry but the county will continue to provide updates to the public.
The county is in regular communication with local municipalities, Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit, Public Health Ontario and local health care providers.
