Dysart et al’s Emergency Management Control Group has declared a state of emergency in the municipality.
Effective Monday, March 23, the West Bay and the Kennisis Lake landfill sites will be closed until further notice.
The other three landfill sites will continue to operate as normal however the Harcourt landfill site will not be able to take construction materials, because they don’t have an alternative to accept cash at that site. Cash will not be accepted in West Guilford and Haliburton, but debit and credit is available.
Dysart are asking people to not bring loads other than regular household garbage and recycling, to reduce human contact.
All public facilities remain closed and the ice is being removed at the arena.
Programming and committee meetings have been postponed until further notice.
Outdoor public toilets in Dysart parks remain open to the public and are cleaned and inspected daily.
