Haliburton County must be hyper-vigilant as a community.
County Warden Liz Danielsen says staff and council have heard there have been “some violations of best practices around self-isolation throughout our community”.
Although there haven’t been any confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the County, Warden Danielsen says “the only chance we have at this time in keeping COVID-19 outside of our County, and help combat the spread in Ontario and beyond, is for residents and visitors to practice social distancing to the greatest extent possible and when required, self-isolate.”
The Province of Ontario and Haliburton County has declared a state of emergency, which means there could be implications for those who fail to self-isolate.
