With freezing temperatures across Haliburton County, Fuel for Warmth is asking you to think about the people who can’t afford heat this year. Organizer Joanne Barnes said families shouldn’t have to choose between food, partially paying bills to prevent disconnection or trying to buy fuel to keep their home warm enough to survive. Fuel for Warmth is asking for donations so they can continue to support people who can’t afford fuel. Barnes explains many seniors last year were simply staying in their beds to keep warm.
