An unoccupied cottage on Wilkinson Road in the Kennisis Lake area was completely lost to fire on Wednesday.
An individual driving by noticed smoke coming from the eaves of the 4-season structure, and alerted the municipality of Dysart’s Fire Department.
When 7 fire trucks and 21 firefighters arrived, the seasonal residence was completely engulfed in flames. Firefighters worked to protect nearby cottages and no injuries were sustained at the scene.
The cottage was a total loss of approximately $350,000.
The incident will not be investigated by the Fire Marshall.
