Haliburton Highlands OPP give tips to prevent vehicle theft

Haliburton Highlands OPP will be out in the community making sure you’re preventing vehicle theft. The “Lock it OR Lose it” campaign launches on December 12 and Auxiliary officer Joel Parker explains what it’s about

Parker says keeping your vehicle locked at all times is the first step, but he also gives other tips to keep in mind.

The campaign will involve officers checking vehicles around town, so you could notice a higher police presence on the streets on December 12 and 13.

Vice President of Investigative Services, Rick Dubin is also sending out warnings to drivers not to keep personal documents in your vehicles. This incudes ownership, liability pink slips, credit card invoices or other documents with personal information. He says identity thieves look for these documents.
