The first COVID-19 Assessment Centre in Haliburton County opens Tuesday March 31.
Local health service providers have worked together to create the community assessment centre, staffed by health care providers who will complete a phone assessment and advise what the next steps will be. This may include self-monitoring instructions, self isolation instructions or further assessment and possible testing in the new drive through facility.
Testing will be by appointment only and will be administered in accordance with the Ministry of Health Guidelines. Call the Assessment Centre at 705 457-1212 (press 6) during regular business hours.
Ontario.ca/coronavirus will get you started if you think you have COVID-19 symptoms (eg. fever, cough, difficulty breathing). If symptoms are severe, call 911 and alert the dispatcher to your symptoms.
