Algonquin Highlands Emergency Control Group met Tuesday, to assess the rapidly evolving COVID-19 pandemic and its potential effects on Algonquin Highlands.
In accordance with the Province of Ontario emergency order, all outdoor parks and other outdoor recreational amenities are closed to the public.
The municipality’s By-law Enforcement Officers with the assistance of Parks, Recreation and Trails as well as Public Works and Fire Services, will now be monitoring the community for public gatherings to ensure physical distancing and social gathering protocols are being followed.
Although all municipal buildings remain closed to the public, all municipal departments continue to operate.
