Local MP Laurie Scott is very happy with Trillium Lakelands District School Board’s reaction to the extended school closure.
MP Scott says the school board have been leaders in virtual learning and e-learning for a long time, and now they say they have supplied close to 7,000 families with what is needed, for those kids who have no access to a computer or the internet.
MP Scott says she understands the gaps that some people have and so they have school bus drivers and custodians delivering to those areas where kids just can’t access internet or any kind of high speed internet, or the parents pick them up. It’s a good news story of the adaptation of the school board.
MP Scott says it gives them the lessons and keeps children learning and she has had good feedback from parents about the programs.
She says “it’s moved us quickly into the world we have been aiming for, on the virtual learning”. Scotts says it has it’s challenges and she wants schools to come back, but in the meantime they’ve accelerated the future. Scott says it’s a time of changing things and making things work, “it’s a whole new world of discovery”.
