Minden Hills had a regular council meeting Thursday morning, except it was online.
All members of council were able to attend, via video chat, with Ron Nesbitt on the telephone.
Mayor Devolin opened the meeting thanking the community for their support and the “army of volunteers” helping people cope during this difficult time. He also thanked county and township staff who made the meeting possible, so council could return to the table.
Before council went in to a closed session, council needed to repeal delegated authority, a by-law passed in March to suspend council meetings. Council agreed to remove the repeal since they are now going to be able to attend regular meetings.
Mayor Devolin commented “this was the first step to returning to normal operations”.
