Monika Melichar from Woodlands Wildlife Sanctuary is confident they’ve made it into the finals for their funding application. The last phase had the community voting online. The finalists with the most amount of votes would advance to the next stage in front of a judge’s panel. Melichar says even if they don’t receive the grant in the end, they’ll still be given five thousand dollars for making it to the finals. The organization is looking for the funding to help build a new building for their rescued animals. Official results will be released in January.
