It’s down to the wire, but Minden Hills council agreed to bring an International Festival for Water to the area. It’s only an agreement in principle right now until they can get final details from lawyers and insurance companies. It’s an event that would be put on by Earth Productions who would cover all the costs. The Township would waive the property rental fees in exchange for five dollars from every ticket sold. By the third year, that amount would increase to ten dollars per ticket. The purpose of the event would be to promote awareness of water issues and the solutions that need to be implemented. The festival would include bands along with water protection groups, world renowned authors, speakers and documentaries.
