Algonquin Highlands council will vote Thursday to allow electronic meetings

Algonquin Highlands are holding a special meeting of council Thursday.

The purpose of this week’s meeting is to amend their procedural by-law to permit electronic meetings.

Amendments are being recommended to provide electronic meetings during a declared emergency.

The majority of the provisions contained in the Township’s Procedural By-law will continue, however there are protocols regarding voting and delegations held during emergency electronic meetings that are specifically addressed in the draft by-law.

The cost to conduct electronic meetings using Zoom with the webinar option is $73 a month.
