The cost of hydro has a lot of people pinching pennies, and even municipalities are feeling the effects. Dysart’s Director of Parks and Recreation, Ray Miscio told council yesterday that the increasing cost of utilities is causing them to raise rental fees at the arena. Council agreed to increase the fees so they are on par with Minden Hills. That means fees will be going up by five to ten dollars, depending on usage with the exception of day rates which won’t be increased.
This is the full list of rates which will go up on July 1, 2015:
- Minor Rate – Minor Hockey/ Figure Skating from $70.00 to $75.00 per hour
- Prime Time (after 4 p.m. weekdays and on weekends) from $100.00 to $110.00 per hour
- Tournament Rate (Labour Day to end of March) from $115.00 to $125.00 per hour
- Day Rate (Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.), staying at $70.00 per hour
- Summer Ice Rates (July 1 to Labour Day) from $150.00 to $160.00 per hour
- School Rates from $80.00 to $85.00 per hour
