Hands are tied when it comes to increasing costs, and Haliburton County councilors are feeling the effects when they take a first glance at the 2015 budget. Treasurer Laura Janke gave them an overview at yesterday’s meeting, saying there are a lot of pressures with low reserves and a lot of needs in the county. Warden Murray Fearrey said this is one of the most difficult times he’s seen. Departments will bring forward their budgets in January and council is hoping to have it approved by February.
